Rye bread is the Finnish national food. When you want to display food with a rustic finesse, the Ruis serving platter will create a truly Finnish and natural atmosphere to the table. The design of the Ruis serving platter was inspired by the Finnish rye bread. Its colouring and shape accentuates a timeless Finnish spirit and the tradition of hanging rye bread on wooden rods to dry for preservation purposes. The serving platter has a hole in the middle, where you are able to place the white ceramic bowl. The bowl is great for serving melted butter or oil and vinegar.
The product is made from FSC certified acacia and every platter has its own unique wood pattern. Oiled with rapeseed oil. Diameter 35 cm, height 2,5 cm.
Design: Terhi Tuominen & Jitan V. Patel. The Ruis serving platter is the winner of Mastermark's Suomi 100 years design competition.
Care instructions!
It is recommended to wash the board and bowl only by hand, avoid immersing them completely in water. Acacia wood does not withstand large temperature fluctuations, so it is advisable to avoid direct sunlight during storage.
Maintenance: Wooden cutting boards need regular oiling to help maintain their surface and keep them from drying out. Make sure you use food-grade oil and that the item is properly clean and dry before oiling. Wash the product by hand.
Deep cleaning: scrub coarsely ground salt with a halved lemon on the wood. Lemon purifies and removes odors. Rinse thoroughly, first with warm (even hot) water, then cold. Let dry in an upright position in an airy space.
