Harri Koskinen (b. 1970) is a uniquely versatile designer who has studied at the Lahti Institute of Design and the Helsinki University of Applied Arts. Koskinen's breakthrough came in 1996, when he launched his Block lamp. Block is already considered a classic of Scandinavian design and has been on display in the core collection of New York's MoMA since 2000.

Koskinen has designed furniture, tableware, glassware, lighting, clocks and textiles for numerous well-known companies. Examples of his skills include the Lantern candle lantern designed for Iittala and the All Steel cooking set, the K chair from Woodnotes and the active speakers designed for Genelec.

In 2009, Koskinen presented his own company, Harri Koskinen Works, at the international furniture fair in Milan. Koskinen's work is characterized by originality, clarity and functionality - he is constantly looking for new solutions with both the consumer and the manufacturer in mind. Since 2012, Koskinen has also served as Iittala's design director.

Koskinen has won prestigious design awards up to and including the Compasso d'Oro award, which he received in 2004 for his Muu chair. Koskinen's awards also include, for example, the 2009 Torsten and Wanja Söderberg award, the 2010 Wallpaper magazine design award for Sofabed, and the 2014 Kaj Franck design award.
